Following the band’s triumphant return with new music last month, post-hardcore five-piece LASTELLE are quickly following up the success they’ve seen in early 2024 with the release of their brand-new single ‘Life In Silhouettes’.
The band kicked off their 2024 in March with the release of single ‘Breathe Me In‘ that has already reached 200,000+ streams across all platforms and seen them receive national UK BBC Radio 1 airplay from Alyx Holcombe & Nels Hylton.
With comparisons being drawn to the likes of Holding Absence, Atreyu and Underoath, LASTELLE’s music deals with the unfiltered expression of emotion. Their goal is to make relatable music, and help people feel as though they are less alone. They write about struggles with neurodivergence, the loss of loved ones, and the difficulty felt in trying to emotionally express yourself. ‘Life In Silhouettes’ does just this with juxtaposed majestically ethereal instrumentals and roaring frenzied vocals.
Fred Whatmore (Bass) explains:
“Life In Silhouettes speaks to my desire to understand my neurodivergent mind. About feeling unsure of my place in the world, the fear of finding out there was ‘something wrong’ with my brain and learning to love myself through a journey of self-discovery.”
The band’s self-directed music video for ‘Life In Silhouettes’ was filmed at a recent live concert in their hometown of Oxford, UK and demonstrates the passionate live show the band are fast becoming known for.
LASTELLE are part of the new wave of UK metal bands that are fast finding their audience both domestically and internationally.
