When it comes to Bring Me The Horizon—one of the world’s biggest rock bands today—many new fans don’t even realize that this Sheffield band, which now plays in arenas in front of tens of thousands of people, used to rock out with straightened, black-dyed hair and nails, playing songs with dissonant, Black Dahlia-style riffs, and songs whose titles were named after a certain Slater’s unwashed dick. The British band’s debut album, which turned twenty this year, proved to be the perfect opportunity for BMTH to celebrate it in true BMTH fashion—in a way very few before them have: thumbing their noses at success and glamour, and fully embracing their raw, aggressive, and often instinct-driven youthful nature.

Nem teljesen egyedülálló jelenség, de mégis ritkán tapasztalható, hogy az önmagukról elnevezett kiadvány nem egy klasszikus, egyszerre ledobott album, hanem a több évig épített Volume Series összefogása/lezárása. A zenekar az elmúlt években háromszámos etapokban adta ki a dalokat, amelyek most egy 12 tételes, korszakzáró albummá állnak össze. Így különösen releváns nézőpont, hogy nem pusztán azt kell vizsgálni, jó-e a lemez dalról dalra, hanem azt is, összefüggő, egységes albumként működik-e egy olyan kiadvány, amelynek jelentős részét a közönség már régóta ismeri.
A héten egyik nagy kedvencünk újabb dala lépte át a milliárdos lejátszást a legnagyobb zenei streaming platformon, emellett pedig voltak természetesen új dalok, stúdiós update-ek, illetve még több felkapott külföldi előadó köszön be hozzánk az elkövetkezendő hónapokban - lesz, aki karrierje során először.
Itt a tavasz, dagad a... hazai szórakozóhely-razzia, ahol egyre több éjszakai klubot vegzálnak a hatóságok bemondott, mondvacsinált indokokkal állítólagos kábítószer kereskedelem gyanújával. Égető téma, amiről muszáj beszélnünk, de azért történtek jó dolgok is a héten. Példának okáért kaptunk egy rahedli friss nótát, amiből így se sikerült mindről megemlékeznünk, de azért 4+1-et most jól kiemelünk.

Her philosophy is that being true to yourself is far cooler than trying to fit in. With this mindset, she continues to showcase her talent through various projects and inspire her audience, while constantly setting new goals – both individually and alongside her bandmate, CJ Arey.

We had the chance to ask some questions to get to know Madrid-based metalcore band Awake Consciousness better - the up-and-coming band's singer Ira Kero not only gave us an insight into the challenges of the metal scene, but also shared her own experiences of how building a career in music as a woman can be different.
